How to build a Cardboard Spaceship

This is a simplfied version of my orange spaceship. Good luck and have fun!
Start with two washer/dryer boxes. Cut boxes as shown below.

Here's how to make those spaceship wings...use a medium size standard box.

Sampler Rivet Kit - $24.95
This rivet kit can be used to build any of the project plans featured on my website. Includes all three sizes of rivets for connecting multiple layers of cardboard of various thicknesses. This kit includes:
- 1 Box of Long Rivets - (100 pcs./50 sets)
- 1 Box of Medium Rivets - (100 pcs./50 sets)
- 1 Bag of Mini Rivets - (100 pcs./50 sets)
- 1 Rivet Remover
- 1 Utility Knife
Time to put the whole thimg together. Add oatmeal can rockets. Make the control panel.

It's time to make the cockpit cover. I prefer to use a "dishpack" box because it has about the right proportions.
If you follow the drawings you will end up with two cockpit covers (it case you botch one).
If you don't have a dishpack box then use what you can find. This can be tricky and will require a little customization depending on the dimensions of your spaceship.
This drawing doesn't show it, but you can cut a slit for the front cockpit cover flap to fit inside (looks better) and use the same rivets you used to fasten the control panel in place.
Once I painted the orange base coat, I used a fat sharpie marker to make the spaceship looking designs. It's really easy. Just make a few rectangles, make some circles, draw some lines. Presto!
