Things You Might Need

Approximate size if built with...

  • Refrigerator boxes = 3' x 15'
  • Wardrobe boxes = 2' x 12'
  • Dishpack boxes = 1.5' x 6' (toddler sized!)

Cardboard Pirate Ship

Start with three big boxes (flaps removed) and make cuts on the dotted lines.


* Save one of these middle sections to use on the bow (see below)


Use Mr. McGroovy's Box Rivets™ to fasten boxes together.
Cut holes in cross-braces for masts.

Each sail is made from one refrigerator box (flaps removed).

  1. cut on the dotted line as shown below
  2. open the box up so it lays almost flat
  3. cut sail to your desired shape

The mast is made from sticking an 8ft. (2" or 3" dia.) PVC pipe in a patio umbrella stand.
Drill two holes in the pipe and insert long bolts (as shown) to keep the sail hoisted.
